It’s Monday. You are probably sitting at your desk in disbelief that the weekend is over. Flies by doesn’t it? Well you can always count on us for some Monday morning projection mapping to distract you from that inbox anxiety. Today’s video comes to us from Coca-Cola Poland and I’m not going to lie to you…it’s weird. Although I’m not sure this video inspires me to pick Coke over Pepsi (that’s because it taste better), it does confuse and amaze me. So here’s our Monday morning prescription: sit back, pop open a coke, and hit play.
We post a new video every week about Projection Mapping as a part of our series called Monday Mapping. Make sure to follow us on Twitter to be the first to find out… or subscribe to the blog.
The purpose of this blog is to say “Guess what world? We are on Instagram!” Are you on Instagram? If you aren’t you should be. If you can look past all the “selfies” and pictures of food it’s a pretty great place… If you are on Instagram, you should follow TripleWide Media. Anyone that joins us on our Instagram adventure can expect a stream of awesome multi-screen and environmental projection pictures. There will be inspiration, ideas, and it’s a chance for our community to “show and tell” so to speak. We can all learn from each other’s ideas and creativity.
Today’s multi-screen design idea comes to us from Jay Bowser of SouthBrook Christian Church in Miamisburg, Ohio. This creative set-up is what Jay is calling a load-bearing triple wide. As you can see the drums, keyboard, and bass are all on a platform supporting the musicians and the screen. Incredibly, this impressive set-up was done on a budget, and I hope it inspires you to find creative and cost-effective ways to create compelling environments. Thanks for sharing with the class Jay; how about a round of applause? Seriously clap those hands people!

Today’s Monday Mapping comes to us from the creative folks over at Elevation Church. This inspiring interactive projection mapping piece was a part of their Easter Sunday celebration. Geoff Schultz, a member of the creative team at Elevation Church, has graciously offered some insight as to how the team pulled off this feat, but before we hear from Geoff, lets have our minds blown by the video.
It’s safe to say that this is the first time Tom Cruise has been mentioned in the TripleWide Media blog. In his new movie Oblivion projection mapping is used in way that is pretty remarkable, and we wanted to share a little “behind the scenes” info we stumbled upon at DefinitonMagazine.com. The director of photography, Claudio Miranda (Life of Pi), and Joseph Kosinski who had recently directed Tron decided to minimize the use of blue screen and instead make the most of projection mapping. Miranda and Kosinski, both known for incredible visuals, create an immersive environment in Oblivion.

Who doesn’t want a car with Spiderman-like abilities? Today’s Mapping Mapping features a Hyndai Accent cruising down the side of a building in epic display. Is it magic? No, it’s projection mapping. One stuntman, over 120 crew members, and a couple thousand spectators… here we go!
Today we get to feature an environmental projection first-timer! If you have assumed that multi-screen set-ups and environmental projection will forever be out of reach, then take a look at what our friends at Ginghamsburg Church recently put together. Dan Bracken of Ginghamsburg was awesome enough to send us a video walking us through their process and production.
