Environmental Projection

The Fifth Ingredient.

5 The Fifth Ingredient. | TripleWide Media

A few months back we did a post called the Four Ingredients of Environmental Projection. It’s something that I have taught for the past year at conferences and events. More or less it helps paint a perspective of what environmental projection entails. It’s a great launching point to environmental projection, but doesn’t just relate to environmental projection, but media in general.

However today I want to officially add one more ingredient. You see, the four ingredients will allow you to make a great dish, but without the fifth ingredient, it will be the difference between distraction and depth. This additional ingredient is Training/Education.

Christmas Environmental Projection Before & Afters

TransformXmas Banner Christmas Environmental Projection Before & Afters | TripleWide Media

I sincerely hope you have enjoyed all of the Transform Christmas posts over the past few weeks. We would love to hear which post or posts were your favorite so far…. But don’t worry, there’s still a few more posts in store before Christmas.

As we were planning for TripleWide Christmas this year and what we would be sharing, we took a look back at last year to see what the most popular post was. Well it was 2011′s Transforming Christmas Before and After pictures.

So we called up our good friend Camron from Visual Worshiper. He’s a mastermind at projection, lighting, looks and such for the visual community as well as a great person to have walk you through the process of installing an Environmental Projection setup.

All of the following setups and pictures are (more…)

Projecting Onto My Parents House

TransformXmas Banner Projecting Onto My Parents House | TripleWide Media

Every year, Christmas is crazy for our team. We’re all over the country doing live events, creating specific Christmas content and media for other artists, companies and churches all the while focusing on TripleWide Media’s Transform Christmas Campaign (this is actually the most fun for our team). It always ends with us exhausted seeing all these great ideas from clients, friends and online… never being able to do something for fun!

However… doing something for the sole purpose of “fun” during the holiday season just seems selfish. You’re supposed to do something for others, create joy or give to a charity. So how do we get to do all of that: have fun, do something for others, create joy and give back to a local charity that is doing good in the world?

We projected onto my parent’s house!

Environmental Projection Before & Afters

TripleWide Media has been the leading source for content and media specifically designed for Environmental Projection ever since day one. We have often shown environmental projection pictures with a “before” (before installation) and an “after” (after installation) view and allowed you to move the slider so you can see the impact it made to the room.

We thought it would be fun to showcase one of our very own producer’s work, Visual Worshiper. Camron, the founder of Visual Worshiper is not only the leading source on integration for environmental projection, he is also the first to really bring it into the church. He has a huge desire to help churches find the right equipment for their needs.

As we have mentioned before, environmental projection is a really difficult thing to pull off because of how unique it is to each space. The following Before and After pictures could be a great thing to show (more…)

4 Ingredients of Environmental Projection

4 ingredients 2 4 Ingredients of Environmental Projection | TripleWide Media

Today I’m going to answer a question we get asked all the time:

What is involved in the setup of Environmental Projection?

This is such a sticky question to ask because environmental projection is different in every room.  Every application is unique. Every environmental projection may have a different setup  and can’t be summed up with a “buy this and this and you’ll be set.” It’s just simply not that scientific.

Imagine I was needing to buy a new car and wanted to know your advice. If I asked you which car I should purchase, you would have to ask me a slew of questions before being able to give me a good recommendation. That’s exactly how Environmental Projection is.

Here is what I call “the four ingredients of Environmental Projection.” Though the use of each of these ingredients will change, this should give you the basics of where to begin. (more…)

Grand Mosque Projection Mapping Breakdown

You may have seen this a few weeks back, as it circled around Twitter a few times… But we thought we would do a quick blog on the process and share a bit about what they used to make it all happen. In short, digital projection mapping company Ocsura Digital worked with the United Arab Emirates Department of State to throw an enormous projection mapping party for National Day 2011. What they did to celebrate was to project onto the front of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and paint it “digitally” with all sorts of imagery, pictures, visuals and art. It is beautiful!

This was truly a visual worship experience for this community as the content represented Prayers of the people and specific attributes of the architecture that has deep meaning in this culture. All the visuals were representative symbols of the UAE and found through the mosque itself. One of the projection pieces illustrated the Prayer of Allah in traditional Kufi calligraphy. Pretty cool! For this community… it truly was Visual Worship, allowing them to (more…)

Super Bowl XLVI – The Details.

As promised – we have all the details for you about the Bridgestone Super Bowl 2012 Halftime show with Madonna and friends. After digging through forums, talking with friends in the industry and scouring the world wide webery… we have found out who the production company behind the big show was and what gear they used! Here’s Super Bowl 2012… The Details.

The company was DWP Live, a name that is quickly growing in the live events world. Based out of TripleWide‘s home town… Nashville, TN. Actually they are a bit south of Nashville in Smyrna, but it’s all Tennessee right?

For those who didn’t see the show and missed the post we made last week where we added a video clip of the entire half time show, you will notice from the picture above that the field had a gorgeous stage at center field. Around the stage was a white plastic-like covering that laid on top of the field and was used as a (more…)

A Cathedral Christmas… From Down Under!

Top Banner31 A Cathedral Christmas... From Down Under! | TripleWide Media

Cathedrals are sacred places aren’t they? What’s unique about them is the amount of incredible richness in each of their images when you project them using Environmental Projection! They have always been some of the more popular images on our site too. It has a lot to do with those exact words; sacred, beauty, majesty. The most amazing part about using a cathedral image in Environmental Projection or multi-screen is that you are able to virtually transport your entire audience and place them in the pews of some of these cathedrals… Talk about sacred! You’re actually bringing history, awe and reverence to them!

So with this mindset today, we thought it would be fun to just see if there was someone doing architectural projection on the front or side of a Cathedral. Since this is somewhat of the new thing to do this year… we didnt have much trouble finding a video on YouTube for you. Best of all… it’s from our friends down under in Sydney, Australia. This is their annual christmas program, but this year it had a twist… projection.

Take a look at what Sydney did on the front of St. Mary’s Cathedral and enjoy today’s “Cathedral Christmas!”

Transforming Christmas Before & Afters

With the whole Transforming Christmas movement almost halfway over we thought it would be fun to share a few before and after pictures with you. This may give you a little bit more fuel to encourage your board or deacons to approve the budget on an environmental projection setup or content, or this may just show you the impact of what the TripleWide community is making in our cities.

These are from our sister company, Orange Thread Live Events, of a few past events they have done. Hope you enjoy:
